Dementia & Nutrition



Regulation 14 states that people who use the services have adequate nutrition and hydration to sustain life and good health and reduce the risks of malnutrition and dehydration whilst they receive care. This training course will look at the nutritional needs that are unique to people suffering from dementia, environments conducive to encouraging nutrition and supporting individuals.

Aim:
To give all participants the knowledge and understanding to meet the nutritional requirements of people with dementia.

The course content:
The course is divided into six modules and includes an assessment at the end:

Poor nutrition and the effect on dementia
M.U.S.T assessments
Mealtime environments
Food presentation
Person centered care
Improving well being

Certification:
A certificate of attendance is awarded on completion of the course; this is subject to satisfaction of the instructor and at the end of the course assessments.

Course fee:
£POA  including a maximum of 12 staff members
