Health and Safety awareness


Care homes differ from other workplaces because they are not only places of work but are also homes for their residents. It is therefore important that they are pleasant places where the freedom and dignity of residents is respected, and where everyone’s health and safety is sensibly and effectively managed.

Aim:
To give all participants a basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety in care homes.

The course content:
The course is divided into six modules and includes an assessment at the end:

Legislation relating to health and safety.
Reporting incidents.
Equipment safety.
Safe use of bed rails.
Slips, trips and falls.
Work related stress.

Certification:
A certificate of attendance is awarded on completion of the course; this is subject to satisfaction of the instructor and at the end of the course assessments.

Course fee:
£POA including a maximum of 12 staff members.
