This course is based on the QCF units for the diploma and will allow carers to understand the nature of working relationships, working in agreed ways with the employer and in partnership with others. The course introduces the concept of duty of care and awareness of dilemmas or complaints that may arise where there is a duty of care. The training will incorporate the Code of Conduct for Care Workers as set out by Skills for Care and emphasise accountability for acts or omissions.
Aim:

To provide all participants with the knowledge to be able to carry out their role as a social care worker and an understanding of duty of care.

The course content:

The course is divided into six modules and includes an assessment at the end:

Understand working relationships
Legislation
Working in agreed ways
Partnership working
Implications of duty of care
Dilemma and complaints

Certification:

A certificate of attendance is awarded on completion of the course; this is subject to satisfaction of the instructor and at the end of the course assessments..
